THE FOUNDER
KATRINA BLASCO
As a teenage girl, I struggled with a lot of body and image issues and insecurities due to the constant imagery in media of what it takes to be considered beautiful. I hated my teeth, my thighs and my stomach and just wanted to look like the tall, thin models I saw in in the magazines or the slim or fit actresses I watched on screen. I didn’t understand until college that what we consume in the media can what we perceive reality to be and that reality had become I would never be on the same level of these women. As I got older and more comfortable with myself, I wanted to see more women in media who were diverse and challenging these societal standards. I wanted to see thin women, curvy women, short and tall women, women of color, transwomen and overall more of women who are overlooked as beautiful amongst society. I created this website to help young girls and women who struggle with these issues of body image and to make them realize the confident and beautiful femme fatale that they are.
